a person of importance or authority

okay…

everybody

every person

every race

in every place

underneath God’s stars

there has never been a nobody

because no body

lacks importance or authority

it’s just not who we are

or were created to be

you are so much more than the eye can see

not talking about physical or surface beauty

but talking about possibility

for some body to be authentically free

crafted into a journeyed mosaic

that our collective lives

sculpt us to be

don’t ever look at yourself as

someone who has no importance 

or authority

for what you’ll often find is a lot of

bodies walking around

aimlessly while they prey 

on the purpose and destiny 

of some body

life takes work

grit

authenticity

and a relentless willingness to persist

in face of adversity

if you can’t show up for you

then who will speak to the representative group 

you were created to inspire,

the culture you must ignite to move and go higher?

buck up buttercup

walk tall

walk strong

be brave

I can’t lie

i wish I could tell you

to fake it until you make it

but life will force you to

face your way through until you embrace it

don’t let the mean faces,

the loud thunderous voices,

or the unhealthy comparisons

throw you off your mark

stage set

lights on

audience seated

it’s somebody’s time to work.
