wins

i was up late the other night

talking with an old friend on the phone for hours

catching up on life

reminiscing about the “good old days”

and talking about the future.

i couldn’t help but to realize that most of our

“headlines” from our pasts were the failures or tragedies…

the VERY reason I hate watching the local news is because there’s ALWAYS a negative

report instilling fear into the public.

I remember hearing a message about how documenting each of life’s wins

can help you to become more grateful

and more hopeful and expectant for the future.

immediately it struck me,

that without faith it’s impossible to please God,

so my constant thoughts or conversation about my past mistakes,

tragedies, and failures

would not be conducive or fertile enough

to contain the seeds of the wins that God has placed in my life.

I can’t constantly talk about the failures and losses of my life

and think that it will produce a thought life or a mind that’s fertile or fruitful enough to bear

faith.

and without that inherent faith,

i can’t please God.

OK.

so from now on i’m going to document each win.

i got a bouquet of flowers today. WIN.

my children received excellent reports from school. WIN.

i was surprised with a relaxing day at the spa. WIN.

i got a call back from a hopeful job. WIN.

what are some examples of your wins?

no matter how small…

if you can see and appreciate the daily wins in your life,

you won’t miss the miracle of what God is going to do for your life in this next chapter.

this next chapter is going to require you to see it

and to thank God and believe Him for the next win before it arrives…

the question is,

are you documenting your pain or believing God for a better future?

and depending on what you focus on, your current pain might move on to be your future

also.

today is my day ONE.

from now on,

It’s going to be faith talking, faith walking,

and documenting all of my consecutive wins.

because all I do is

win

win

win

no matter what.
