imagine

imagine thinking that you found a place that you could finally call home.

a place where you can rest, you can unwind…

Only for it to be a mirage.

seeing something in the distance, not quite fully ever being able to touch what’s seemingly tangible

because it never was.

Imagine.

Imagine spending invaluable time sharing your heart, your time, and your essence…

only for your pearls to be cast away…

imagine.

Imagine words so sweet…love so dense that it created its own haze.

Almost as if, in some part of your heart and mind, you can’t walk out from under it.

Hazy love, dense, thick, and sweet…

all encompassing.

Imagine.

Don’t awaken the slumber of my love, for my heart’s cadence and flow have been put to slumber by the brute blows of a life long gone.

In rest, I heal. imagine.

Imagine the intoxicating fragrance of memories that startle…sweet and yet, painful.

imagine.

Have you ever experienced an interrupted dream? Interrupted instantly?

Like a sharp thrust of a spatula turning over what’s in the pot.

FLIPPED upside down.

Tossed, turned, pressed.

Imagine.

Now imagine trying to go back to sleep.

imagine trying to find that place of comfort.

Imagine trying really hard to pick up where you left off…

Imagine praying to God to get back to that sweet place of peace.

Imagine.
